Traveling with a group of more than six? We offer group rates.
With TWO Airvans we can accommodate 12 passengers at the same time. We are also happy to provide your group with back-to-back flights for groups larger than 12. These special group rates are only available by phone so please call us at (808) 720-0916.

Meet Our Friendly Pilots and Staff

Erich Johnson

Erich JohnsonEric Johnson is an FAA certified Flight Instructor in Weight Shift Controlled (WSC), Airplane Single Engine (ASE), Commercial Pilot with instrument rating in multi-engine aircraft. Erich was one of the first Designated Pilot Examiners for Sport Pilots, Sport Flight Instructors in Weight Shift Controlled Aircraft in the United States.

Erich went on his first flight in a glider (sailplane) at the age of 13. He began flying hang gliders in 1993 where he fell in love with the freedom of flight. By 1996 he was an advanced hang glider pilot and was introduced to trikes (WSC).

He attained a Private Pilot Certificate in airplanes in 1997. In 1999 Erich authored the Weight Shift Controlled Aviation Handbook. In 2001 he completed training for the Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Multi-Engine Rating and Flight Instructor in airplanes.

Erich started skydiving in 2003 after visiting Oahu and eventually moved there where he flew gliders, skydive planes and met his wife-to-be. Now he finds himself with a family of two girls and living on Kauai.


Desi Malan

Desi MalanDesi grew up in Northern Utah, skiing and hiking since she was first able to walk. Desi wanted to fly since she was five years old. She graduated from the flight program at Utah State University and became a Certified Flight Instructor. Shortly after she moved on to become a backcountry/scenic pilot. Desi loves anything with water; surfing, boating, rafting. Favorite hobbies: rock climbing, mountain biking and backpacking.


Harry Dalsey

Harry DalseyHarry Dalsey has flown over 5000 hours above Kauai with AirVentures since 2008. A professional pilot and flight instructor since 2006, with 7500 hours of flight experience in many different private aircraft. Favorite airplane: Waco Biplane, with over 500 tours! He has flown over all eight major Hawaiian islands in small airplanes!

When not flying, he enjoys surfing, hiking, swimming, and finding sunny beaches for a walk. “I love showing my passengers the beauty and adventure of Kauai, having fun flights with the utmost safety.”
